Chineese New Year is here. It is the eqivalent to Christmas in the western world. Family reunions, people is flying home from any part of the world to be together. I read somewhere that this is the time of the year when most people are in movement on earth. This new year is also the year of the Golden Pig which is something special. Children born during this year i said to have a greater chance to prosper and earn a fortune. This beliefe has triggerd a small baby boom in China because many parents postponed to give birth so that their children will be born in the year of the golden pig. The year of the golden pig only appears once every 60 year so you better not miss the chance. The chinese time cycle is over 12 years and each year has a characteristic of an animal. From a western perspective these characteristics may seem unglamurous (seriously, who want to be born in the year of the rat or the pig or the dog...)Anyhow, this is the animal assigned to the birth year for you people at home.
Hans, Martin N, Martin W 1969: Born in the year of the Rooster
Magnus, The twin Brothers 1967: Born in the year of the Goat
Anders, Ulf: Year of the Monkey
Gunnar: Year of the Rabbit
Ok, that's quite a line up. This weekend I expect Magnus F to stop by here on his way to Thailand. I intend to put up some pics later on.
