Uncle Magnus - 40 years old

Today Magnus is having his 40:th birthday. He was born in Lulea a cold day in march 1967 but pretty soon he convinced his parents to move to a warmer climate in the south of Sweden. Years passed by and I first met Magnus through his parents Lasse and Lilian who where colleagues and friends of my father in Uddevalla, Sweden. I have a picture at home from that meeting at Bohus Malmon on the Swedish west coast. Magnus is singing a song (most certainly a dirty song I have a vague memory of "In kommer far". That song is not suitable for translation.) I should be about 5 years old an Magnus is 7 years and its a sunny summer day on a small stripe of beach embedded among the rocks.

After that we didn't meet a lot until many years later when I came to spend the summers with his family in the south of Sweden at Segesholm close to Degeberga in Skane. I spend three summers with them and it felt like an endless freedom with the long summer nights, bicycle rides to the beach and adventures in the surrounding forest for the ten weeks that school was out. I guess these summers shaped our relation and we became almost like brothers (with all what it means of friendship, conflicts and strife). Later on we went to inter-rail adventures through Europe with people from from Uddevalla, summer jobs at the hospital laundry and finally we ended up at the same university with Martin W, Martin N and other friends. Just recently Magnus passed by here in Singapore (see earlier posts.)

Well its been a long journey and there still remains a lot to do in life Magnus. Though, I have to say it was a little unnecessary of you to rob that bank just because you were tired of your job at Sony-Ericson. Anyhow, I Hope to see you soon again once you are released from jail 2010. In the end theres only one word. Respecta !
