Full moon and the lantern festival

This is the view from the house where i live. Its been the end of the hungry ghost lunar month and the first night of the full moon families go outdoors in the evening. It is also common to light some fire crackers and people come together to enjoy life for a while.
Sometimes you can experience these beautiful "blue" evening skies which is not so common at home, everything is immersed in a blue. I had the same experience in the Philippines during full moons, it was like "when the night come falling from the sky" (to phrase Bob Dylan).

The logo image is from Boon Lay MRT Station which is close to where I live. They are building new condominiums so thats why there is a lot of cranes. It symbolize Singapore quite well right now, everywhere you go there is new housing projects going on. I still try to imagine an expansion from 4 million inhabitants to 6 million at 2015-2020. I already know feel its over crowded here and then to imagine them squeeze in another 2 million, well its gonna be a lot of people. For a Swede who is used to huge empty spaces and the forests, lakes and silence it might become a bit to much.

During the full moon evening the kids bring these lanterns and firecrackers. This picture is taken outside my house when they where going to the playground.

Singapore låter lite för folktätt för min smak redan nu. Men jag vill gärna åka till Asien och turista ett slag och uppleva blå nätter. Kanske nästa år?
