Pic. Astrid Lindgren with her son

I have nothing special to report. I long for a vacation of any kind. I miss friends and family at home and maybe there will be a trip to Sweden this coming summer. I visited DN's site and viewed a slideshow of pictures from Astrid Lindgrens life and suddenly I became all nostalgic and moved. She really had an impact on ones childhood with Emil, Pippi, Mio, Lejonhjarta and other figures. And the pictures kind of reminded me of a past time as well as the 70's and 80's when you grew up in a different Sweden. Before mobiles, the net, the global society, environmental problems and warfare in the middle east. The state would always guarantee your welfare and things could only get better from here on (Sweden as utopia). The systems was later reconstructed and we entered a new era. Well some things have turned better since then and others haven't. Still, I think most people, at occasion, long back to the untroubled and happy moments you had in your childhood.
